Station Place: Property Group Partners

THE SITUATION
Station Place is Washington, D.C.’s largest office development, which includes three 10-story office buildings spread over 1.5 million square feet. It connects to the city’s second most visited attraction: Union Station. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is the development’s largest tenant, occupying approximately 77 percent of the space.

THE SOLUTION
Having acknowledged the need for their primary tenant to have government-level security, Property Group Partners now uses Kastle Systems access control and video surveillance technologies across all three office buildings. Kastle Systems is the only managed security provider that supports Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), and is FISMA- and FIPS 201-compliant. Since 2004, HSPD-12’s mission has been to increase the protection of government facilities, employees and sensitive information.

THE RESULT
As of June 2012, the SEC implemented a Kastle Systems security solution—this comprised of HSPD-12 compliant readers and the utilization of existing video assets. In addition to perimeter and individual tenant suite access control, Kastle Systems secures the buildings’ elevators and 1,183- car garage 24/7.
