Job Description:

The Manager, Installation & Service is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the Installation & Service department to ensure prompt, professional and quality installations and maintenance of the systems Kastle provides its customers. The manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities associated with the installation and servicing of a customer’s access control and security system, while providing thorough and professional services that enable the system to meet the customer’s expectations.

 

Specific Functions:

1.       Personnel and Administration

·         Interviewing, hiring and training new employees

·         Conducting performance evaluations and salary reviews for all employees and maintaining employee records

·         Managing staffing so that excellent and timely service is provided

·         Enforcing performance and behavioral standards and exercising disciplinary action when needed

·         Process payroll and expense reports

·         Interface with unions, when required

 2.       Installation 

·         Initiate and conduct contract implementation process

·         In conjunction with Project Managers, coordinate system installations with customer representatives, other trades and other Kastle departments to ensure quality and timely completion

·         Prepare technical specifications and correspondence for customers

·         Attend coordination and/or construction meetings as required

·         Responsible for all aspects of scheduling

·         Initiate and maintain contract progress billings

·         Perform cost estimates on projects

·         Manage work orders, including scheduling and applying all necessary parts to pending work orders prior to COB on last day of the Month

 3.       Service 

·         Manage all aspects of field service, including managing on-call service technicians and subcontractors

·         Work with our Operations Center and its service desk to accomplish goals and objectives, as well as improve on-going processes

·         Prioritize and dispatch service calls on a 24/7 basis

 4.       Purchasing & Inventory Control 

·         Responsible for managing all facets of procurement of goods and materials necessary for an efficient operation of the business

·         Purchasing administration, inventory control and related record keeping in accordance with the uniform standards and procedures set forth in the Confidential Operating Manual

·         Design, manage and implement inventory control systems to ensure an adequate availability of equipment at all times

·         Maintain adequate inventory levels

·         Process work orders, contract and inventory transfers as required to ensure proper billings, documentation and inventory control

·         Ability to supervise inventory control efforts

·         Prepare and evaluate comparative cost analyses, as required

·         Manage overall purchasing efforts so that all material is purchased from "approved" suppliers

·         Capable of establishing desirable business relations with suppliers and vendors

 5.       Logistics 

·         Prepare, maintain and communicate with the Customer Service department the installation and systems additions schedules

·         Prioritize and dispatch service calls

·         Maintain I&S vehicle fleet, tools and equipment

·         Issue and track employee tools

·         Negotiate contracts with other trades, sub-contractors and vendors

·         Provide technical support and on-going training to field technicians

 6.       Other 

·         Attend weekly staff and/or scheduling meetings

·         Provide information and feedback to customers and other departments

·         Maintain building files and system documentation to facilitate future service

·         Perform weekly and monthly revenue projections

·         Prepare departmental budgets

·         Review monthly departmental expenses

·         Perform bi-annual and yearly physical inventory

·         Research local building, electrical and life safety codes

·         Provide technical support to the Customer Service and Sales departments

·         Responsible for generating and maintaining the daily, weekly and monthly installation and service schedules

·         Be available 24/7. The Company will provide you with a cell phone/PDA

·        Other projects as assigned
